Plan it
I never once planned or thought about my recovery after my first was born. My focus was entirely on the pregnancy and birth. Going through an incredible transition, I needed time and space to rest, heal and learn in my own time - none of which I allowed myself to do - cue exhaustion and a deterioration in my mental health.
In these sessions, we would look at your postnatal recovery: rest, food, bodywork and social support. Parents with prior information and preparation bond more easily with their newborns, have lower rates of postnatal depression, a better recovery and often breastfeed for longer.
Sessions can be done in person or via video call.

I will be your constant support for as long as you need it for: baby care, feeding, recovery and listening to birth stories with no judgement.
I’ll make sure I support your physical recovery with nutritious food and can give you the space you crave by helping with your baby so you can nap, shower, run an errand or spend time with another child.
The fourth trimester is a opportunity for you to have space and time to get to know your baby, recover and gain confidence in your new role.

“Emma is passionate about post natal care and maternal wellbeing, a passion which extends beyond being a doula. She supported me as a friend following the birth of my two children and, besides being an amazing friend, sounding board and shoulder to cry on, she is so knowledgeable about organisations that support new mums. She is a great listener and always responds with empathy. I’ve known Emma for twenty six years and can honestly say that she is incredibly, a wonderful mummy of two, and would care and support her clients as though they have been her friends of twenty six years too.”
